Want to know about VLSI institutes in India....?
You should be very careful while choosing a VLSI institute. There are many institutes charging hefty amounts (except VEDA IIT) for Front End and Back End courses. The fee ranges from 40 thousand to 1lac. You may ask following questions to judge the merit of an institute.
- Can you brief me about the lab exercises?
- How many days allocated for theory and labs, labs should be given more importance?
- Can you differentiate your course from others?
- Are you teaching how to architect the design?
- What are the EDA tools you are giving training on, are they industry standard?
- Ask about the backgrounds of the trainers.
- Please brief about the latest technologies that you are imparting.
- How many days are given for the final project and what is the complexity of the design namely technology, gate count, frequency, number of macros etc?
- If the design is low power or not?
Following are few well known institutes across India.
VEDA IIT, Hyderabad (VEDA is a unique institute in India which does not charge any amount but recruits the students purely on the basis of merit and their consortium companies requirements. The consortium consists of 5 various VLSI companies.)
